Baikonur Tour – Soyuz MS-04 Launch

Just a couple of days ago our crew returned from Baikonur where had spent 6 days with cosmonautics fans arranging for them a breathtaking tour with the observation of the launch.

At 10.13, Moscow time, on April 20, Soyuz MS-04 crew made up of Russian cosmonaut Fyodor Yurchikhin and American astronaut Jack Fisher was successfully launched to the ISS.

Traditionally our group visited such important pre-launch events as international press-conference of prime and back-up crews, parting ceremony in front of Cosmonaut hotel, crew’s official ready-to-go report to the State Commission, and a part of our group even arrived a day earlier to watch the roll-out of the rocket from the integration building and its erection onto the launchpad.

This time our group was numerous indeed: on the day of the launch about 80 Federal Cultural Autonomy of the Greeks of Russia representatives came to Baikonur. Participants came from Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don, Ekaterinburg, Republic of Crimea, Stavropol, Krasnodar, Gelendzhik, Armavir, Vladikavkaz, Krymsk, Yeysk, Krasnaya Polyana, Sochi, Nalchik, Pyatigorsk, Yessentuki, Donetsk, Zheleznovodsk, Anapa, Mineralniye Vody. On that day youth delegation had a very busy schedule apart from crew’s ready-to-go report young people visited cosmodrome museum, Buran shuttle full-size mock-up, Gagarin and Korolyov memorial houses and learned a lot of interesting facts about legendary Baikonur during the city tour and shared their impressions in the interview to Russian TV since Fyodor Yurchikhin is of Greek origin and they were very proud to see him off to space.

The launch of the rocket as usually became the climax of the tour and impressed everyone greatly.

Our tourists took home not only bright impressions and good memories but a great deal of knowledge on space related topics.

Join our space fans team and our next Baikonur tour!
