Baikonur Tour – Soyuz MS-06 Launch

Together with a group of space and adventure fans we saw off to space from Baikonur launch site one more international crew.

On September 13 at 03.17 local time (01.17 Moscow time) Soyuz MS-06 spacecraft with three crew members aboard was successfully launched from #1 launchpad of Baikonur. The crew comprised Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Misurkin as a crew commander and two NASA astronauts Mark Vande Hei and Joseph Acaba as flight engineers.

From tour to tour our groups tend to grow in size and though the major part of the group were Russian citizens it is very pleasant to see that more and more foreign guests show great interest to Russian cosmonautics. This time we had a team of space fans from USA, tourists from Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand and France.

We also had a very special project worth mentioning; in the framework of TV-project dedicated to unusual touristic destinations we arranged filming for a crew from New Zealand.

According to long standing tradition we attended all prelaunch events starting from roll-out and installation of the rocket onto the launchpad, visited all museums and sights of Baikonur. Besides this time we were lucky to see two space launches during one tour since Proton booster launch with telecommunication satellite took place on September 12 at 01.26 local time. But naturally the launch of Soyuz was the most spectacular and emotional event.
