Soyuz MS-04 spacecraft landing tour

Recently our tourists have returned from Kazakhstan where they were taking part in such unforgettable adventure as expedition to Soyuz MS-04 landing site.

The adventure started in Karaganda airport. Upon arrival our guests took their seats in comfortable offroaders and went to the landing region.

In the evening upon arrival at site our tour participants set up a camp and had a festive welcome dinner. The landing of Soyuz MS-04 descent capsule was scheduled for early morning thus we didn’t have not that much time to sleep.

Our tourists were ready to meet the cosmonauts at first light. Soon we heard a loud boom – in the skies DC parachute system deployed. Though the capsule was still at a very high altitude we could clearly see the huge parachute about 1000 square meters in size.

The capsule got lower, thermal protection screen was jettisoned uncovering soft landing engines.

Our guests were supervising search and rescue crews going closer to the designated landing point and saw how landing engines were ignited and the capsule successfully landed.

From just a few meters distance our tourists watched the specialists accomplishing necessary operations on a just landed capsule.

Then with the help of specialists the crew consisting of Russian cosmonaut Fyodor Yurchikhin (Roscosmos) and American astronauts Peggy Witson (NASA) and Jack Fisher (NASA) left the capsule.

After first warm welcome the crew went to the mobile hospital to pass additional medical testing changed for jumpsuits and were transported to the airfield by helicopters.

Our tour participants watched the specialists preparing the capsule for further transportation, celebrated the successful landing in steppe and then went to the city.
