VK Vegitel Aerospace Tours:

Space weekend

If you are interested in space or just want to have an exciting and educational weekend, an excursion to Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center is a great choice! And so did our guests on this warm summer Sunday.

Star City is a unique place, especially interesting because it is a real training base for all cosmonauts and astronauts of the planet. Our guests learned about the history of Star City and Training Center creation, about the life of cosmonauts on orbit, about their long and difficult preparation for the flight, about the selection of cosmonauts.

In the Soyuz spacecraft hall they got acquainted with the modern training of cosmonauts on the spacecraft that delivers them to orbit and back to Earth. On the “Vykhod-2” simulator they learned the most interesting details about spacewalks and Orlan spacesuit design.

We also paid attention to the historical heritage and appreciated the full-size mockup of the Soviet Mir space station.

The guests were impressed by the scale of the huge centrifuge TsF-18, designed to prepare astronauts for g-loads.

Everyone was fascinated by the exciting astronavigation lesson in the space planetarium, now our sightseers know exactly how to find different constellations, and how astronauts memorize up to 5000 stars.

And at the end of the program – another impressive International Space Station hall. This is the exact copy of ISS Russian segment, an actual simulator for operating onboard the station. It is used by all crews to study and take exams before space flight.

We are pleased to invite everyone to join our next excursions and explore the fascinating world of cosmonautics!
