“Spaceflight” magazine about us
Recently we have arranged a tour in Star City for our guests from Great Britain. British space magazine “Spaceflight” reporter Tony Quine and his wife planned their stay in Moscow so that they could see Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre in Star City they had always dreamt of visiting.
Our guests had a chance to see the unique facilities of GCTC technical territory such as Soyuz spaceships simulators, Centrifuge TsF-18 which is used for simulating g-loads during all the stages of space flight, Hydrolaboratory that is used for extravehicular activity training under simulated weightlessness condition. They also studied MIR space station internal design and were impressed by full-scale mock-ups of Russian ISS segments. And what is most important they had their Sokol Spacesuits training, learned how difficult it is even to put the spacesuit on and off and showed their great respect for the cosmonauts as for them work in spacesuits is a part of professional activity.
After the tour Tony wrote an article for Spaceflight magazine about his preparations for the tour, his stay in Moscow and his experience in Star City.
