DATE AND PLACE OF BIRTH:
September 23, 1977, Ershichi, Smolensk Region, Russia.
EDUCATION:
In 1999 he graduated from Armavir Military Aviation Institute (MAI) with a gold medal, was qualified as an “engineer-pilot”.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Since October 1999 he served as a pilot, master pilot, commander of the flight section of the guards training aviation regiment (TAR) of Krasnodar MAI (Tikhoretsk), the North-Caucasian military region.
TRAINING FOR SPACE MISSIONS:
In October, 2006 at the meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission for selection of cosmonauts Misurkin was enlisted in the cosmonaut detachment to pass a course of general space training (GST).
Since February, 2007 he passed a two-year course of GST. In June, 2009 he completed general space training with an “excellent” mark. At the meeting of the Interdepartmental Qualification Commission (IDQC) Misurkin was qualified as a test cosmonaut.
Since October 2012 he passed training for a space flight within the prime crew of the ISS-35/36 Expedition as a flight engineer of the Soyuz TMA-M MTV and the ISS-35/36 flight engineer.
On March 7, 2013 Misurkin was approved by the Interdepartmental Commission as flight engineer-1 of the prime crew of the Soyuz TMA-08M vehicle.
On March 27, 2013 at the State Commission meeting at the Baikonur Cosmodrome he was approved as flight engineer-1 of the prime crew.
Since June, 2015 to October, 2016 he passed the traning as the ISS-49/50 backup crew member and backup of the vehicle commander.
Since October 2016 he passed training as commander of the Soyuz MS-05 manned transport spacecraft and the ISS flight engineer in the backup crew of the ISS-52/53.
Since July, 2017 he is passing the traning course as the prime spacecraft commander and commander odf ISS-54.
SPACE FLIGHT EXPERIENCE:
First space flight. Misurkin performed his first space flight at a period of March 29 to September 11, 2013 as a flight engineer of the Soyuz TMA-08M vehicle and the ISS flight engineer under the program for the prime crews of the ISS 35/36 together with Pavel Vinogradov and Christopher Cassidy. During the flight he performed three spacewalks, namely on June 24, 2013 – of the duration of 6 hours 35 minutes, on August 16, 2013 – of the duration of 7 hours 29 minutes, on August 22, 2013 – of the duration of 5 hours 58 minutes. The mission duration was 166 days 6 hours 15 minutes.
