Birth of a young astronaut

Last week-end we celebrated a great holiday, not a nation-wide, but nevertheless very important. It was a Birth of a young astronaut.

Almost all adults can say that the dream of their childhood was to become an astronaut. Kids have very special relation to everything associated with space. The atmosphere of mystery covering far stars always attracts young hearts. So, that day the cradle of Russian cosmonautics – Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center – opened its doors for Maria – the ordinary Moscow girl.

The birthday girl together with her guests had a great opportunity to familiarize with real space simulators, learn design of Soyuz spacecraft and visit the mockup of Mir orbital station. Multimedia hall and the space planetarium fascinated kids a lot. The whole tour went together with interesting quizzes that gave participants chance to demonstrate their knowledge.

At the final part of this event our young space explorers had a celebratory dinner followed by interactive game adventure. Participants even developed new models of spacecrafts which were later on evaluated by a real cosmonaut. The Hero of Russia S. Volkov wished a happy birthday and advised young designers to study only excellent and in future write their names in the space book of glory.
