Another L-39 jet-trainer flights took place today. The first guest from Switzerland had been dreaming of becoming a pilot since he was a child and today, as a birthday present for his 18th anniversary, he got a flight on a real jet-trainer with aerobatic manoeuvres above the vast winter expenses of Kaluga region. The other guest from England already has a pilot license. Before that he flew propeller-planes and then he decided to get acquainted with jet-planes.

We are always glad to meet new space conquerors but there is something very heartwarming and peculiar in welcoming back old friends coming back again for the new impressions. Two years ago we arranged an extended aerospace program for a family from Switzerland. On Christmas Eve Boris and Irina with their son came to Star City again.

Once again we saw off to space an international space crew from Baikonur. Despite extreme weather conditions common for Kazakh steppes in winter many space enthusiasts from all over the world came to support the crew made up of commander Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Kononenko and flight engineers ESA astronaut David Saint-Jaques and NASA astronaut Ann MacCain . On the whole we had guests from Germany, Mexico, Singapore, Canada, Italy, Australia and of course Russia.

Russian frosts do not frighten the real extreme-lovers. The first winter day, 1.12.2018, started with a flight of our guest from Switzerland who is a pilot himself. In frosty sunny days, the airfield acquires a unique allure. A thirty-minutes’ higher aerobatics programme on L-29 can fascinate both amateurs and advanced pilots. Meanwhile, Mansur aerobear refuses to hibernate and demands morsels and fun. In a couple of days, there were more flights on the L-29 jet trainer and on L-39 jet

Visitors may touch the descent module flown by the world’s first cosmonaut, Yuri Alexeyevich Gagarin, see with their own eyes the Voskhod-2 multi-man spacecraft, from which Alexei Arkhipovich Leonov pioneered performing space walk; a full-scale mockup of the Soyuz-Apollo first international orbital complex: full-scale mockup of the Salyut orbital station and many other things.

The Labour Glory hall shows the enterprise history made by those who contributed a lot to its growth and development: photographs many of which are unique; documents, awards; memorable souvenirs and so on.

The Memorial room devoted to S.P. Korolev reconstructs the interior of the scientist and designer work study. Here you can find his personal belongings, a lot of photographs and documents which are today of significant historical value.

Museum of Cosmonautics in Star City

The museum of Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre was founded on the initiative of Yuri Gagarin in 1967. Nowadays it has one of the largest collections of documents and materials on the history of manned cosmonautics. Four halls of the museum contain the unique exhibits reflecting all stages of the manned space flights – from the legendary “Vostok” to “Mir” orbital complex, as well as development of international cooperation in space.

Museum of the Russian Air Force

We invite you to visit a unique museum of the Air Force of the Russian Federation. In the 38th kilometer to the south-east of Moscow in the green coniferous forests there stands a museum, first in our country, where genuine samples of Air Force equipment are presented. In this museum one can see different planes, helicopters, aircraft engines, armament, and rescue facilities, relating to the whole history of the national aviation from 1909 to present.

Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics

We’re inviting you to visit the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics in Moscow. The museum is accommodated in the stylobate of the monument "To the Conquerors of space", one of unique monuments of Moscow, which was erected to commemorate the launch of the 1st Earth-orbiting artificial satellite. The monument was designed by architectures Mikhail Barshch, Alexander Kolchin, sculptor Andrey Faydysh-Krandievski and was opened on November,4th 1964. The idea of establishing the museum belonged to Sergey Korolyov, the Chief Designer of the space-rocket systems. The museum opening ceremony took place on April,10th 1981. The date was chosen to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the first space flight performed by Yuri Gagarin. The museum houses samples of space equipment, personal belongings of people connected with rocket and space industry, archival documents, videotapes and photographs, numismatic and faleristic, philately and deltiology articles, works of fine and decorative art.
