Baikonur tour – Soyuz MS-11 launch

Once again we saw off to space an international space crew from Baikonur. Despite extreme weather conditions common for Kazakh steppes in winter many space enthusiasts from all over the world came to support the crew made up of commander Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Kononenko and flight engineers ESA astronaut David Saint-Jaques and NASA astronaut Ann MacCain . On the whole we had guests from Germany, Mexico, Singapore, Canada, Italy, Australia and of course Russia.

Russian frosts do not frighten the real extreme-lovers. The first winter day, 1.12.2018, started with a flight of our guest from Switzerland who is a pilot himself. In frosty sunny days, the airfield acquires a unique allure. A thirty-minutes’ higher aerobatics programme on L-29 can fascinate both amateurs and advanced pilots. Baikonur tour – Soyuz MS-10 launch

In October we traditionally went to Baikonur to see of to space Soyuz MS-10 crew. For the first time in 35 years there arouse off-nominal situation 122 seconds after the launch and due to the booster failure the spacecraft was not orbited but the more important is that thanks to the genius engineering of Soyuz the cosmonauts were saved. All this united our big international team even more but we’d better never face such situations again. Find our detailed photo report and get inspired.

Space program for our Chinese guests

A few days ago our company arranged a complex training program for Chinese guests in GCTC. The schedule was very busy, our guests studied Soyuz spacecraft design and layout, put on Sokol spacesuits, tried to cook real space food with the help of GCTC specialized facility, performed a spacewalk wearing Orlan spacesuits, worked inside ISS module and besides had a seties of theoretical sessions dedicated to space topics.

Our old friend from Spain Josu Feijoo came back to Star City again. He is a real Spanish hero proving by his own example that people with diabetes are able not only to live a full live but even to conquer Everest, fly onboard MiG-29 jet fighter, pass space trainings etc. This time Mr. Feijoo chose Centrifuge TsF-7 for his explorations, besides he wanted to perform the ride wearing Sokol spacesuit during the training.
